El Famous Burrito has been a beloved fixture in the community since it first opened its doors in 1985. Founded by Benny Sagredo with a passion for authentic Mexican cuisine, the restaurant quickly gained a reputation for its delicious food and welcoming atmosphere.
Over the years, El Famous Burrito has become a staple in the community, with generations of families returning time and time again to enjoy their favorite dishes. The restaurant has also expanded, with multiple locations throughout the Chicagoland area, but has never lost sight of its roots.
El Famous Burrito continues to honor its legacy by providing customers with a truly authentic Mexican dining experience. From the traditional recipes, every dish is made with the same care and attention to detail as it was on the day the restaurant first opened. And while the restaurant has grown and evolved over the years, its commitment to quality, hospitality, and authenticity has remained steadfast.

Since opening his first location in Summit, Illinois, Don Benny made sure to share his love for cooking with his daughters. From Rogers Park, Mt. Prospect, to Downers Grove, to Tinley Park, El Famous Burrito continues to thrive through the hard work of the entire Sagredo family.
Today, the recipes passed down from Benny’s mother are alive and well in the hands of his daughter, Isabel, who is re-opening the Summit location where it all started.
